The finest Sapphires are deep azure-blue and come under the influence of Jupiter.In earlier times, excellent Sapphires came from Kashmir and Burma.
Sapphire is the common name of blue corundum. In fact, there is no difference between ruby and sapphire except color. After diamond it is the hardest stone. Its hardness level is 9 mesh which is little less than diamond’s 10 mesh. Market prices of ruby are comparable with diamond and emerald. Prices of sapphire are also very high but less than those of ruby and diamond.

Gems of ruby and sapphire are used to supplement diamonds in jewellery enhancing its attraction and price value. Once, a stone of sapphire mined from North Zambia, weighed 3100 carats. This is considered to be the most precious sapphire in the world not only for its size but also for its pretty dark blue complexion.
Men born in September can wear it in rings.Women can wear it in lockets. Being highly influential upon wearer’s temperament, requires a great deal of cautiousness when used. If a crack occurs in the stone it shoud be readily unwear.
The wearer of this gem seeks enlightenment via devotion and wisdom via harmony. A genuine Sapphire is said to be helpful to those with heart and stomach problems.Jupiter gives abundance but also warms against self-indulgence.
